Inflatable Repairs

2009 November 19

More and more people seem to be starting an inflatable moonwalk rental business. Many people are purchasing these inflatables from an online web store, most of which are coming in from overseas via California. A lot of these new units are not made to the standard of the big US manufacturers and do not hold up well at all under commercial rental use.

We have been doing inflatable repairs for many years and see a trend emerging. Five years ago, our repair facility saw most of the moonwalk repair customers coming in during the Winter time, which was the rental companies down time when the units did not go out much if at all. This gave the moonwalk rental companies’ time to get their units stitched up in time for the big Spring season kicked off in March. Inflatable slides and jumpers that are tearing during normal use, inflatable obstacle courses that have seam problems during the busiest time of the year. Why is that? We are seeing a lot more units with substandard material, that tears much easier, and thinner thread (sometimes the units are not even double stitched) that breaks under normal use.

We say buyer beware. We see very little repairs from Ninja Jumper inflatables or Moon-Walker inflatables, both made from high quality vinyl and well reinforced. We cannot mention the companies that are more often than not showing up on our repair tables. Check for warranty, get references, ask for previous customers to call and see how they like the inflatables they have purchased after they have used them for more than one season.

We are always happy to repair anybody’s unit. Just seems a shame to tell the customer that the brand new unit they purchased has more problems than they knew about or that the seam we stitch will hold now but that the other seams will start to fail soon.

There are not many reputable companies out there doing repairs of inflatables. Some people just buy a sewing machine and have at it. It takes years of experience and training to be able to repair a commercial jumper properly, not just big talk and a machine. Repair customers, beware also.

Tubing (recreation)

by inflatablechinee

Tubing (also known as inner tubing or even toobing) is a recreational activity of riding an inner tube, either on water, snow, or through the air. The tubes, themselves, are also known as "donuts" or "biscuits" due to their shape.

Water
Two riders become airborne after jumping the boat’s wake.
Tubing on water generally consists of two forms: towed and free-floating, also known as river tubing.

Towed tubing usually takes place on a large body of water such as a lake or river. One or more tube riders (often called "tubers") tether their tubes to a powered watercraft such as a motor boat or a personal watercraft. The riders are then towed through the water by the watercraft.

In free-floating tubing, the tube riders are untethered and often conveyed by the current of a waterway. Texas and much of the southern U.S.A. have adopted the spelling of ‘toobing’ and ‘toobers’. People paddle with their hands to steer. Without steering, you generally float towards the bank of the river. Groups of tubers often rope their tubes together creating a large floating group. This generally slows down the float but allows the group to pass food, drink, and other party implements around the group. Because of this, free-floating tubing often takes place on rivers and streams (natural or artificial). Longer expions often include tubes mounted with coolers for food and beverages.

Popular riverside tube rentals normally warn against glass due to riverside dangers. Some law enforcement officers have prohibited kegs which were popularly chilled in metal tubs harnessed within larger tubes.

Major water parks often have specially designed courses for tubing. These may consist of a circular, artificial river on which riders are conveyed or a linear course such as a water slide.

Some ski resorts offer courses devoted solely to tubing. Such courses often have slopes or barriers on the periphery to guide the tubes along a safe course. Motorized pulley towlines are often used to tow riders and their tube back to the top of the course after riding to the bottom.

It is also possible to tow a tube through the snow behind a snowmobile. This is similar to towed tubing on water, only the watercraft is replaced by a snowmobile and the water with snow-covered ground.

The one common piece of equipment across all forms of tubing is the tube itself. While tubes vary in construction, all share the general characteristics of being: Inflatable, what made of a thin, flexible, synthetic material such as rubber or PVC plastic?

Water
Tubes for use as towable on water are generally not true inner tubes but rather specially designed tubes for the purpose of recreation. These tubes are often fairly durable and come in either donut or disk shapes. A sleeve of synthetic fabric often covers the tube to prevent it from becoming elongated during towing. Such sleeves commonly have handles for the rider to grasp and an anchoring point for the tow line to be attached at.

Kids’ Favor

Scaredy Squirrel
Scaredy Squirrel is the title character of the Scaredy Squirrel children’s book series. The books often follow the same format: Scaredy identifies his fears, shows how he avoids them at all costs, and develops contingency plans, which usually involve an emergency kit and playing dead till the threat has passed. Scaredy is inevitably faced with the fears he tries so hard to avoid, eventually learning that it is not as bad as he initially imagined. However, he only slightly alters his strict daily routines after these experiences.

The Scaredy Squirrel series is written and illustrated by Melanie Watt and the first book was published in March 2006 by Kids Can Press. The series is told using large pictures with simple descriptive text.

A sequel, Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend was published In March 2007 by Kids Can Press. In the second book, Scaredy decides to leave his nut tree and find the perfect friend; he must be germ free, toothless and completely predictable. With meticulous planning and preparation Scaredy sets off with rubber gloves and air freshener in hand, but the friend he finds is not what he had in mind at all.

A third Scaredy Squirrel title, Scaredy Squirrel at the Beach, was published in March 2008.[1] In this book, Scaredy Squirrel has the perfect plan to have some 100% safe fun in the sun by building a beach getaway under his nut tree, complete with a germ-free inflatable pool and plastic flamingo. Still, a crucial part of the beach is missing — the sound of the ocean — so with his meticulous map and worst-case scenario contingency plan, Scaredy sets off to bring home the perfect seashell. But he’s keeping an eye out for menacing seagulls, pinching lobsters, scary sharks, falling coconuts and camera-shy sea monsters.

Crocodile Mile
Crocodile Mile is an outdoor water toy for children. It consists of a plastic track, a ramp, a hoop, and a "splash pool." In order to use the Mile, one runs toward the track, slides along its length, flies off the ramp and through the hoop (and through the curtain covering the hoop, which features an image of a crocodile), and lands in the splash pool. Although comparable to the well-known Slip ‘n Slide, the latter does not have a ramp or a pool in which to splash.

During the 1980s, Crocodile Mile was heavily advertised on television. The lyrics to its jingle are as follows: "You run, you slide, and you hit the bump, and take a dive."

The Crocodile Mile remained popular until about the late 1990s, when the safety hazards associated with other slides, coupled with the availability of "real" water slides and swimming pools hastened its decline. However, in recent years, inflatable slides have become more popular, especially for large groups.

Trampoline: Water Trampoline

by inflatablechinee

A water trampoline is a fun and exciting inflatable water toy that will be enjoyed by every member of the family. A water trampoline is much like a traditional trampoline, except that it is built of materials that float on water. These are perfect for lakeside homes or any area with sufficient water for hopping fun. A water trampoline is a sturdy and safe trampoline that is made out of a float tube, trampoline frame, jump mat, springs, and comes with a ladder to access the trampoline from the water.

A water trampolines come in sizes that range from 36 inches high to 42 inches high and 12, 15, 20, or 25 inches round. There are many different sizes available to suit any family. When looking for a water trampoline for your family, there are a few things you should look for. You must ensure the safety and quality of the water trampoline so that you can make sure all users have a fun and are safe on the water.

First, make sure that the water trampoline is built of high quality materials. Perfect materials for your water trampoline is PVC material and seams that are reinforced with an effective glue bond. You will always be reassured in knowing that your water trampoline will stay afloat during use.

All materials should be protected against wear and tear from usage, the sun and water. You will want your water trampoline jump mat to be the same size as trampolines that are land mounted. This will make sure there is plenty of room for jumpers. Also, look for a guarantee on the workmanship of the water trampoline. Make sure the company provides you with a good warranty that will protect you if there are any defects in the product.

After you have purchased your water trampoline, you will need to inflate it prior to using and deflate it when you have finished. It is wise to use a powerful inflator or a shop vacuum to do this. Both of these will help in inflating and deflating your water trampoline.

When you have gotten your water trampoline inflated and moved onto the water (by boat if it is a large body of water) you will need to anchor the trampoline in the water. This will prevent the water trampoline from moving with the water and suddenly being in the middle of the lake. Your trampoline should come with attachments and an anchor for this purpose. If not, you will need to purchase these separately.

Your water trampoline should also come with an easy to use repair kit and instructions for repairing small holes in the trampoline. Overall, you want a safe and reliable water trampoline for all your summer water fun. Remember to keep all users safe on and around the trampoline to avoid accidents and injury. Have a safe and fun summer with your new water trampoline purchase.

Advice on Starting Your Own Jumper Inflatable Business

2009 October 31

Jumper inflatable (e.g. bounce houses, combo units, slides, water slides, interactive games, obstacle courses, inflatable movie screens, advertising balloons and arches) are fast becoming a key component in the home and even in the workplace and many people are beginning to realize just how lucrative the inflatable jumpers business is.

Like any other business, starting your own inflatable jumpers business takes care, attention to detail and a willingness to dedicate you to the goal of success.

A great way to get started in the inflatable jump toy business is to consult with another business who can provide you with information, ideas and supplies; in some instances, affiliate plans are worked out to begin with, and these often work very well.

Here are a series of recommended steps to take if you’re serious about starting an inflatable jumpers business.

First, get a license, a business name and a business location. Make sure you have all proper permits required for selling jumper inflatables on the property of your choice.

Second, research your competition. This is highly important, as you need to figure out how they work and what goes into making a bounce house and inflatable toy business successful. Find out which jumper inflatables businesses exist in your city or even vendors who sell things like bounce house inflatables.

Find out what they charge for buying and renting their inflatables, what areas they deliver too, whether they only rent inflatables or offer other items like chairs, tables, etc.

Third, set up your business operations. This means everything from a website and logo design to new business cards and updated information. This is imperative for branding and marketing purpose.

Since starting a jumper inflatables business is easier compared to many other businesses, the amount of overhead is necessarily much less.

Fourth, in order to start a jumper inflatables company, you have to have merchandise. This means buying or renting jumper inflatables, so determine how much money you can invest to begin with.

Set out a budget and look for good deals on decent jumper inflatables; remember if you buy a crappy product, it’s not going to last long; inflatable jump toys are no different.

Additionally, make sure you have some variety; instead of getting all bounce house inflatables, for instance, think about getting water slide inflatable jumpers, interactive games, combination units and much more.

Budget money for accessories on top of the jumper inflatables, like a dolly, tarps, storage bags, patch kits and anything else you can think of.

Five, market, market and market some more. This is one of the most important things you can do to ensure your company is successful. Pass out and post tons of fliers locally, build up a presence online or get someone to help you, advertise in the local yellow pages and newspaper and generally go out and promote yourself and your product.

And last but certainly not least, ensure the jumper inflatables you buy have your brand name painted on them; this is a great way to further advertise your services to the world.

Uses for a Family Camping Tent

2009 October 27
by inflatablechinee

Tents are generally used to shelter people from the elements. These elements include, rain, sun, snow and others. A family camping tent is built to accommodate several people. The size of the family camping tent can vary from a tent for three people while some reaches up to ten to fifteen people capacity.

Shelter and Then Some
A family camping tent can be large enough to comfortably house up to fifteen people. Tents this big usually have partitions and several opening for windows, vents and doors. The design of a family camping tent is usually rectangular with a peaked roof. There are some designs of a camping tent, big enough to house a family, that are circular or square but these tend to take up a lot of space. The main purpose of a family camping tent is to shelter the family or any group of people.

Another use for a family camping tent is to store food and other supplies. This is usually done if there is more than one large camping tent. The smaller is sometimes used to house the supplies if there are a lot of these or the smaller tent can also be used for a smaller group of people to avoid crowding the bigger tent. This family camping tent cum store tent will then be a sort of stock room or supply room where supplies are kept to avoid them getting wet or protect them from insects and other marauding animals.

Outdoor Picnic
Another use for a family camping tent is for an outdoor picnic. Many tents of this size are made as tall as eight to ten feet. This means that people can stand and move around in this tent. Putting a table in this tent should be no problem. The reason why some people make a family camping tent into an outdoor picnic tent is to keep insects and smaller animals at bay from the food and beverages.

In spite of the other uses for a family camping tent, the most common is the original one, which is to shelter and house a family or group during camping or like events. Many appreciate a camping tent that can shelter a group of people with high roofing because this means they can move around comfortably. A family camping tent can have many advantages to own for a particularly large family who like to go camping or like having outdoor activities.
